[edit] Refinements of the <description> element

The following vocabulary terms are defined as refinements of the XCRI description element.

To use these terms, make sure you import the XCRI Terms XML schema in your document, and reference the qualified name of the term using the xsi:type attribute. E.g.

the aim of a course of study
applicationProcedure
the procedure for applying to a course of study
assessmentStrategy
a description of the broad approach to assessment used in the learning opportunity. Examples include types of assessments and evaluations of learning and competency development such as exams, mostly by coursework, etc. Equivalent to mlo:Assessment. See CWA 15903.
careerOutcome
career outcomes for a course of study
contactHours
the number and style of contact hours that a learner should expect on a course of study
contactPattern
the style of contact that a learner would receive on a course of study
events
events relevant to a course of study, such as open days
indicativeResource
examples of the kind of resources that would be used on a course of study, such as IT facilities and reading lists
leadsTo
opportunties likely to flow from a course of study, such as opportunities for further study (course articulations)
learningOutcome
learning outcomes for a course of study
objective
An aim or learning objective for the presentation. See CWA 15903.
policy
policies relevant to a course of study, such as diversity of adjustments for disability
prerequisite
A prerequisite or entry requirement for accessing the presentation. See CWA 15903.
providedResource
resources that would be provided to learners by the institution
regulations
regulations relevant to a course of study
requiredResource
resources that the learner must provide in order to engage in a course of study
specialFeature
used to highlight special features of a course of study
support
support facilities available to learners
structure
an overview of the module composition of a course of study
studyHours
hours of study expected of a learner for successful completion
teaching Strategy
the teaching strategies that will be employed on a course of study
topic
a syllabus of topics that would be covered in a course of study

The following elements are defined as refinements of the engagement property defined in MLO (see CWA 15903)

To use these terms, make sure you import the XCRI Terms XML schema in your document, and reference the qualified name of the term using the xsi:type attribute on the <engagement> element.

E.g.

A general expression of the overall amount of the student's time that is devoted to the learning opportunity, as defined by the provider, for example full-time.

The value of this element MUST be one of:

Full Time
Part Time
Sandwich

[edit] attendanceMode

The type of location at which the student will undertake the learning opportunity, for example distance learning, campus-based, work-based, or online.

The value of this element MUST be one of:

Campus
Distance with attendance
Distance without attendance
Work-based
Mixed mode

[edit] attendancePattern

The period in the day and/or frequency during which attendance at a venue is required (if any), for example evenings, daytime, weekends.

The value of this element MUST be one of:

Daytime
Evening
Twilight
Day/Block release
Weekend
Short
Customised
Standard days
